Achievements

Achievements are askTheodor’s gamification layer: small, unlockable milestones scattered across the app that celebrate progress as you use it. Create your first Company, set up a Routine, fill in a Company OS, watch a Worker reach level 10 — each can pop an achievement.

They’re pure delight, not a requirement. Nothing gates behind them; they simply make using the app feel a bit more rewarding.

How they unlock

As you work, certain actions quietly check whether you’ve crossed a threshold. When you have, the achievement unlocks — and you’ll see an unlock toast slide in, with a burst of confetti for the moment. Each achievement unlocks only once, so you’ll never be pestered about the same one twice.

Achievements come in tiers that signal rarity — bronze, silver, gold, platinum — and are grouped by category (Worker, Tasks, Goals, Library, Org, Routines, Cost, Onboarding, and a special Master set) so the collection stays tidy.

What they can be earned for

An achievement can be tied to:

  • the whole installation — unlocks once for you (e.g. “set your first Tribe Doctrine”),
  • a single worker — earned per worker, so several can reach the same milestone (“Worker hits level 10”), or
  • a single Company — so each Company can rack up its own milestones independently.

The trophy case

Everything you’ve unlocked lives in a trophy case in Settings — a gallery of your badges, with the locked ones often shown too, as a gentle hint at what’s still out there to discover.

In practice

Use the locked list as a feature tour. The most practical thing here: locked badges hint at parts of the app you haven’t touched yet. Skimming them occasionally is a faster way to discover a capability you’d have use for than reading a feature list.

Don’t optimise for them. They’re cosmetic by design and never gate a feature, so chasing a badge means doing work you didn’t need. If a badge unlocks because you built something real, that’s the intended direction.

They’re a rough record of build-out, not of value. A full trophy case means you’ve exercised many parts of the app — not that your workforce is producing anything useful. Judge that from your Cost ledger and the work you actually approved.
