Theodor (the bridge)

Theodor is your AI chief-of-staff: the one worker who sees every Company at once. This amber-tinted screen is his bridge of operations — a control console for steering the whole workspace. Come here when you want a bird’s-eye read, a one-click “go figure this out for me,” or just to talk things through with someone who knows the full picture.

How to get here

Click 🎩 Theodor in the sidebar, or press the floating Theodor button (the FAB) at the bottom-right of any screen. The big 💬 Talk to Theodor button in the hero opens (or resumes) a normal chat with him.

The hero and workspace stats

The top of the screen shows Theodor’s identity card plus a live status line — workers online, Companies, tokens used today, dollars spent, and a warning if anything is awaiting your approval. Below it sits a row of stat cards (Workers · Companies · Open tasks · Open goals · Inbox · Today’s tokens · Today’s cost). Each card is clickable and routes to the screen behind the number; the cards refresh themselves about every 15 seconds.

💡 Suggestions (Theodor’s initiative)

Theodor proactively surfaces a few high-value ideas — things like “this routine never produces anything, pause it” or “this worker is idle, here’s a task.” Each suggestion card shows a rationale, a value note (in your terms — revenue, time saved, risk avoided), and a risk level. For each you can:

▶ Approve & act — open a chat already primed to do the thing.
💬 Open chat — discuss it first instead of committing.
Dismiss — clear it.

Two controls sit above the list:

✨ Review & suggest now — Theodor scans the workspace right now and posts fresh suggestions.
⏰ Auto-review — a toggle (off by default). When on, Theodor reviews your workspace about once an hour and pops new suggestions automatically.

🤖 Ask Theodor to… (macros)

A grid of one-click macros, grouped into Planning, Operations, Workforce, Comms, Finance, and Reflection. Clicking one spawns a fresh chat seeded with a focused instruction. A few examples:

☀️ Morning standup / 📅 Summarise this week — “what happened overnight?” and cross-Company digests.
✅ Help me clear approvals — walks the approval queue, highest-risk first, with a recommendation for each.
🧹 Spring clean — audits the workspace for cruft: stale routines, dead tasks, dormant workers.

Other panels

Below the macros you’ll find Automations (how many Routines are enabled, with their owners), Pending approvals (only when workers are waiting on you), a stuck-worker recovery panel that appears only when someone’s stuck, and the workforce strip — every worker as an avatar chip; click one to open their profile.

In practice

Macros are worth using because writing the prompt well is the hard part. Each one seeds a chat with a detailed, tested instruction and has Theodor gather real workspace context before answering. Three that earn their place:

✅ Help me clear approvals — walks the queue highest-risk first with a recommendation for each, which is a better order than the chronological one you’d work through by hand.
🧹 Spring clean — finds stale routines, dead tasks and dormant workers. Workspaces accumulate these silently, and nothing else surfaces them.
☀️ Morning standup — the “what happened overnight” read, cross-Company, without opening five screens.

Suggestions are proposals, and worth treating as such. Each carries a rationale, a value note and a risk level — read the rationale before ▶ Approve & act, because the reasoning is where you’ll spot a suggestion built on a wrong assumption. 💬 Open chat lets you argue with it first.

Auto-review is off by default, and that’s the right default to change once you’re settled. Turning it on has Theodor scan roughly hourly and post suggestions unprompted — useful on a workspace with real activity, noise on one with three workers and no routines.

The stat cards are a monitoring surface, not decoration. Today’s tokens and today’s cost refresh about every 15 seconds, and the status line warns when something is awaiting your approval. On a workspace running unattended work, this screen answers “is anything wrong right now?” faster than the Dashboard.

Nothing here bypasses approval. Macros and suggestions both stop at the same gate as everything else — anything that changes your workspace or sends something outward still waits for you.

Terms in this page

Theodor — the built-in “chief-of-staff” worker. Unlike ordinary workers, he’s scoped to the whole workspace and can see and coordinate every Company.
Bridge / console — this admin screen. Named for a ship’s bridge: where you survey everything and give orders, rather than do the work by hand.
Macro — a saved, one-click instruction. Clicking it starts a new chat pre-loaded with a detailed prompt so you don’t have to type it.
Suggestion — a proactive idea Theodor raises on his own initiative, with a rationale and a plain-language value estimate.
Auto-review — an opt-in setting that lets Theodor re-scan the workspace roughly hourly and post new suggestions without being asked.
Approval / approval gate — a checkpoint where a worker pauses and waits for your OK before doing something sensitive or irreversible (like sending a message).
Risk level — a low / medium / high label on a suggestion or pending action, so you can triage what to scrutinize.
Token — the unit AI models read and write in (~¾ of a word); providers bill per token, so the status line shows today’s token use.
Routine — a scheduled or triggered job a worker runs, usually unattended; the Automations panel lists them.
Kafenio — the in-app “café” where workers socialize and leave observations about each other; some macros read its recent chatter to gauge team health.
Audit log — the running record of actions across the workspace; several macros mine it to answer “what happened?”
