Companies

A Company is how you group workers into a team with its own org chart, knowledge, and operating dashboard. This screen is the directory of every Company you own — your starting point for founding a new team, opening an existing one, or checking how each is doing. Think of each Company as a neighborhood in your village, and its workers as the residents who live there.

The stats strip

Four tiles across the top give you the shape of your whole workforce: Companies (how many you own), Workers across all (unique workers holding at least one role anywhere), Unassigned workers (people not yet placed in any Company), and Avg workers / company.

Creating a Company

Three buttons sit in the header:

• ✨ Wizard — the recommended path. Pick a starter org (startup, agency, solo founder, …) and the Wizard builds a complete Company in one go: workers in defined roles, an org chart, plus starter projects, goals, and routines. Takes about five minutes. You can also re-apply any template you’ve saved from an existing Company.
• ⬆ Import — load a Company from a JSON bundle someone exported. You’ll be offered the chance to rename it on the way in.
• + New — start from a blank Company and build it up yourself.

Batteries included

You don’t have to design an org from scratch. The Wizard ships with ready-made templates, and the team it spawns is immediately usable — workers, reporting lines, and a few projects and routines already in place.

Company tiles

Below the stats, every Company appears as a card showing its avatar, name, short description, and worker count. Each tile has:

• Open — go to the Company’s home (its profile with all its sub-tabs). Clicking the tile’s header does the same.
• 📊 — open Reports filtered to this Company.
• ⚙ — rename, re-avatar, or re-describe the Company.
• 🗑 — delete it. Deletion is soft: the Company moves to Settings → Trash, where you can restore it later.

“Worth this month?”

The “what is this Company worth?” framing lives on the main Dashboard, in the per-Company value row — tasks shipped, spend, and hours saved over the last 7 days. This screen is the roster; the Dashboard is the scoreboard.

In practice

Use the Wizard for your first Company, and probably your second. Building an org from a blank page means inventing roles, reporting lines and starter routines before you know what you need. The Wizard gives you a working team in about five minutes; rewriting its workers’ missions afterwards is far easier than designing them cold.

Companies are worth splitting when contexts don’t overlap. Two useful splits in practice:

• By client or brand. Each Company keeps its own Library, so the agency work for one client can’t bleed into another’s — the RAG retrieval simply doesn’t reach across.
• By function. A marketing Company and an operations Company keep unrelated reference material apart, which makes retrieval sharper for both.

If everything you do shares the same context, one Company is genuinely fine. Splitting for tidiness costs you cross-team retrieval and gains nothing.

Export before you experiment. ⬆ Import / export moves a whole Company as one JSON bundle, so a Company you’ve tuned can be saved, copied to another machine, or restored after you break it. Cheaper than rebuilding a roster.

Deletion is soft. A deleted Company goes to Trash for 30 days, so clearing out an abandoned team is a safe decision rather than a permanent one.

Terms in this page

• Company — a named team of AI workers with its own org chart, knowledge Library, and operating surfaces. The top-level unit for organizing a workforce.
• Worker / persona — a configured AI character (name, role, model, tools, memory) that does the work. “Persona” is the technical term for the same thing.
• Org chart — the tree of roles in a Company showing who reports to whom; it’s what lets a manager delegate to the workers beneath them.
• Wizard — a guided builder that spins up a whole Company from a template in one pass, instead of creating each piece by hand.
• Template — a reusable blueprint for a Company (its roles, workers, and starter content). Built-in ones ship with the app; you can save your own.
• Bundle / import / export — a Company packed into a single JSON file you can save or share, then load back in elsewhere.
• Unassigned worker — a worker that exists but isn’t placed in any Company’s org chart yet (a “wanderer”).
• Reports — the analytics view; the 📊 button opens it pre-filtered to one Company.
• Soft delete / Trash — removed Companies aren’t erased immediately; they sit in Settings → Trash so you can undo.
