Trash

Trash is the undo for deletion. Everything you remove from askTheodor lands here for 30 days before it’s permanently purged, so a mistaken delete is never fatal — you just Restore it. Conversations, Companies, workers, projects, goals, tasks, and Library items all share this one bin.

Filter by kind

A row of pills lets you narrow the list to a single entity type:

• 🗑 All (default), 💬 Conversations, 🏢 Companies, 🧠 Workers, 📁 Projects, 🎯 Goals, ✅ Tasks, 📚 Library.

The list

Each deleted item shows its title, its kind, when it was deleted, and how many days remain before it’s purged. When an item is within a day of purge, it’s flagged in red as purging on next boot. Per item:

• ↺ Restore — put the item back where it was, fully intact.
• Delete forever — permanently remove just this item, right now. This cannot be undone (asks to confirm).

Empty trash

A panel at the bottom offers Empty trash — permanently delete every item in the bin immediately. Normally you don’t need this: items auto-purge 30 days after deletion on their own. Use it only when you want everything gone now (asks to confirm).

Auto-purge after 30 days

Items left in Trash are automatically and permanently removed 30 days after you deleted them — the purge runs when the app next starts. Within that window you can always restore them.

“Delete forever” and “Empty trash” are permanent

Restoring is safe and reversible. Delete forever and Empty trash are not — once an item is permanently removed, it’s gone for good. If you might want it back, leave it in Trash and let the 30-day window run.

Cleared your whole workspace by accident?

If you used Reset workspace data (in Settings → General) and want it back, it’s all here — that reset soft-deletes into Trash. Filter by kind and Restore what you need within 30 days.

In practice

Check here first when something has “disappeared.” A worker you can’t find, a Library doc that vanished, a conversation you’d swear existed — deleting in askTheodor is a soft delete, so the first place to look is this bin, filtered by kind. Restoring puts the item back intact, in its original place.

A wrong Reset workspace data is fully recoverable. That reset (in General) soft-deletes into Trash, so everything is sitting here for 30 days. Filter by kind and restore what you need. The Factory reset in Demos is the one that isn’t recoverable — different button, different outcome.

Deleting is a safe way to tidy up. Because there’s a 30-day window, clearing out abandoned workers and stale Library items costs you nothing if you change your mind — much better than keeping clutter around “just in case.”

Leave the bin alone and it manages itself. Items purge automatically 30 days after deletion, on the next app start. Empty trash and Delete forever exist for when you want something gone immediately — for instance a Library document containing something sensitive — and neither can be undone.
